Masquerade figure: Inspired by Yoruba Egungun costumes, this figure is clothed in a variety of West African fabrics. The Yoruba have a divination verse, "Cloth never dies; it only wears to shreds," expressing the symbolic importance of textiles in cultural transmission from generation to generation.

The beads are an assortment of Ghanaian glass beads. 2008.
